Contaminants are known to adversely affect solar cell production in many ways. For example, trace metal contaminants have been directly linked to a decrease in cell efficiency, while organic contaminants are known to hinder a complete texturing process and to interfere with the pyramid size of the texture. Organics are also known to cause issues related to passivation and deposition.

ChemTrace offers micro-contamination testing expertise in substrate manufacturing, wafering, and cell manufacturing. We work closely with customers to understand, and meet, their testing objectives. Moreover, we instruct our customers in the handling and packaging of samples to prevent addition of contaminants that jeopardize sample integrity.
